Types of Cannabis Flowers

Cannabis flowers, also known as buds, fall into two main categories: CBD flowers and THC flowers. CBD flowers are legal in Slovakia, while THC flowers remain illegal in many parts of the world, including Slovakia. The reason is that THC, the compound responsible for the psychoactive and euphoric effects, can be addictive. On the other hand, CBD buds are used for mood improvement, relaxation, or better sleep, without the risk of dependency. The World Health Organization (WHO) has long stated that cannabidiol (CBD) has an excellent safety profile. So, which cannabis flowers are worth trying?

Types of Cannabis Flowers

As mentioned, cannabis flowers are mainly divided into CBD and THC types. However, there are also CBG flowers, which offer similar relaxing effects. Since THC weed is illegal in many countries, using or possessing it can lead to legal trouble. In Slovakia, you won’t find THC flowers in stores —only CBD flowers with less than trace amounts of THC are available. Meanwhile, in the neighboring Czech Republic, the rules have loosened since 2022, allowing the sale of buds with up to 1% THC, along with regular CBD products like CBD oils.

CBD Flowers

CBD flowers are gaining popularity, not only in Slovakia but also in the Czech Republic, Europe, and the USA. This trend is particularly strong in progressive and liberal countries of the Western world. CBD buds are used by manufacturers to produce CBD oils (not to be confused with hemp oils) and by growers and sellers as a product for consumers. Some people collect different strains, while others use them in herbal vaporizers. There are plenty of ways to enjoy these cannabis buds.

THC Flowers

THC flowers are illegal in many parts of the world, including Slovakia, primarily because of their potential for addiction. This is due to the euphoric effects experienced during prolonged, chronic use of the psychoactive compound THC. Long-term users often feel euphoria, while new users may experience psychoactive states. Over time, mental health issues like depression, anxiety, or a lack of motivation can also develop, especially when weed becomes a habit.
